Welcome to the Web Pages of the Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH
The Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH, a non-profit, limited liability organization, was established as a clinical centre in 1994 from the former Chemnitz municipal hospitals. With its 1,790 beds it is one of the largest hospitals in Germany, and with 3,000 employees it is also one of the largest employers in the region.
The Klinikum Chemnitz carries out almost all medical specialties and provides competent care for its patients at all of its sites and in all of its treatment centres, centralised departments and branches.
In the year 2000, the Klinikum Chemnitz was the first German hospital to be accredited in accordance with the international standards of the Chicago-based Joint Commission International (JCI). The surveys for the re-accreditation were also successfully completed.
With that the Klinikum Chemnitz is the first hospital in Germany, the fourth in Europe and the seventh worldwide, which has successfully passed the initial re-accreditation surveys, which have to be carried out every three years. This certificate proves that the Klinikum Chemnitz provides both a continued high quality service in the care of its patients and accepts the great challenge for the progressive improvement in the quality of health care it provides.
