Institute for Biomedical Engineering

The Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBMT) has been entrusted with the management of the medical equipment of the Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH and other clients.

In December 2007, the IBMT was first accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485:2007. The scope of the accreditation includes the "Installation and Maintenance of Medical Devices".

The accreditation certifies that the Institute has introduced and applied a modern quality management system for medical instrumentation and has taken into account the specific requirements of its customers.

It ensures all customers that, within the IBMT, all processes are carried out in strict accordance with the statutory requirements of the German Medical Devices Act (Medizinproduktegesetz, MPG), the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (Medizinproduktebetreiberverordnung, MPBetrV), and any other relevant laws.

Management and staff alike make every effort to optimize the work processes and to improve the quality of the services provided.
